Catching up on 2026's Comics & Book released so far:

The Phantom #2013 - New Year's colour special - out January 2026.
Featuring full colour version of 'The Goggle-Eye Pirates' (1948) by Lee Falk and Wlison McCoy, coloured by Ivan Pederson, and a back-up sequel 'The Return' written by Paul Mason, and art by Giancarlo Caracuzzo. The Goggle- Eye Pirates return to seek revenge against the Phantom; this time, they attempt to bring the fight to his front door...

The 90th Anniversary of The Phantom special (#2025) - out June 2026
Celebrating 90 years of The Phantom. Features stories by Lee Falk and Sy Barry (coloured by Ivan Pederson), and new stories by Duncan Munro and Ken Steacy, Pidde Andersson and Giancarlo Caracuzzo (coloured by Flavia Caracuzzo) and a new Phantom in Vietnam chapter 'War Pigs" by Paul Mason, with assistant edits by Amanda Bacchi. As well as an essay by Dr. Kevin Patrick, all new stories are edited by Glenn Ford and published by Dudley Hogarth at Frew.
The cover of this special issue is by Ben Bradi, with a Paul Mason back cover, and a variant front cover by Ken Steacy.

From IPI comics, out in March worldwide via Luna was Sherlock Holmes: Dark Detective: Dr Nikola vs The Soldier Legacy one-shot, by Christopher Sequeria and Paul Mason, with a back up story with art by Jan Scherpenhuizen, and cover by Dave Elsey. This is a re-touched release of 'The Soldier Legacy's Strange tales #1'. This will also be released later this year in the upcoming Sherlock Holmes: Dark Detective Omnibus.

Late last year (December 2025) saw two Academic book chapter releases by Paul Mason:

Masks, Southern Crosses, and Old Jungle Sayings: Australian action, adventure, superheroes and contributions to a hidden genre" - published in FOLIO: ESSAYS ON AUSTRALIAN COMICS (Palgrave Macmillan.). The book also features comic book panels/illustrations by Paul Mason as part of the chapter.
